20040311: Converting NetCDF files to gempak files (fwd)

Jongnam,

The dcreanal (and dcreanal2) converters I provided use the
COARDS convention NetCDF files with attributes of the
reanalysis files to determine the standard parameter number in the
ncarncep1.tbl file as the name to store the data in the GEMPAK file.
In particular, the converter is looking for the attribute "GRIB_name"
as well as "GRIB_id" or "gribparam" to determine the reanalysis
parameter.

It sounds as if your files with derived fields don't fit the CDL
which I developed the program for.

If you could send me a sample file or point me to the download location
you obtained the data from, I can provide you with an update.
