20030926: Topo bases w/ sat images

Dana,

No, GEMPAK cannot do image composition or mathematical functions at this time.
Dpending on your project, you can do some post processing on the image
output from GEMPAK (using packages like imagemagick) which is useful for
web gifs but not for interactive users.

For overlaying radar on satellite images, you can either use the RCM or
the gridded composite (such as the 6km national mosaic I provide 
in FNEXRAD as a GRIB). These can be used like:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/examples/gprcm/index.html

Since you can always overlay gridded data on satellite, the GRIB data for the
FNEXRAD product, or the 10KM HDS product HAXA00 can be used, or gprcm for the
rcm bulletins SDUS4x.
