We do have ancient SUNWspro 5.0 as our default and that was the
problem.  Once I did the following:

126 stoves,ldm@damp% setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/usr/local/ws6/SUNWspro/lib:$ld
127 stoves,ldm@damp% ldd NAWIPS-5.6.K/bin/sol/garp
