20030715: driver problems



Dusty,

whenever you use an X display, you must set your DISPLAY environmental 
varaiable,
and have access permission to the X server. For example, a simple (non-GEMPAK)
program like xterm can be used to test out your connection.

If you are not running an X server, then use a device such as PS or GIF which
do not rely on an X server connection.
