[Datastream #MGI-191975]: 20201224: GOES-17 Data Problems



Hi again Fred,

After figuring out that the images with missing tiles were coming from
the machine that was processing a feed we get from UW/SSEC, we turned
off processing on that machine and are now running with a single ingest
source.  A quick look at the most recent 50 FullDisk Channel 13
images shows that turning off the ingest on our SSEC-fed machine has
resulted in the positive effect that we were after.

We don't (yet) know if the data ingest problems were a result of the
feed from UW/SSEC or a result of some problems encountered after upgrading
the machine's OS from CentOS 6.10 to CentOS 8.3.  Figuring out what
exactly was causing the problem is our next task, but, in the interim,
the GOES-West imagery now appears to be good.
