Re: 20090810: IMPORTANT - switch to new MADIS servers by this FRIDAY

Tom,

Eldm isn't going away. Any products you get from eldm that don't have
"MADIS" as part of the product name you should keep getting from eldm.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

re:
All MADIS users,
Our plan is still to move all users off of the old system by August
14. However, many people haven't yet made the switch. Please do so
this week.

Thanks for the reminder. I must say that I misread/misscanned your
original email to mean that folks getting the wind profiler data
in the FSL2 datastream should also switch off of eldm.fsl.noaa.gov.
I found out the hard way that I was wrong in pointing at ldm.madis-data
for that data.

Questions:

- are you planning on decommissioning eldm also

- if yes, do you have a machine we should transition our feed to?

Cheers,

Tom

Subject: IMPORTANT: Switch to new MADIS distribution system by August 14

All MADIS users,

We have established an upgraded distribution system for all MADIS data
users, and would like you to switch to it as soon as convenient, but
please do so by August 14.

We plan on turning off the old systems COB Mountain time Friday
August 14.

Here are the old and new servers:

Old New
--- ---

ftp:

pftp.madis-fsl.org pftp.madis-data.noaa.gov
rftp.madis-fsl.org rftp.madis-data.noaa.gov

web:

ldm:

eldm.fsl.noaa.gov ldm.madis-data.noaa.gov

Please report any problems you may have making the switch to:

Thanks,

Mike
