Hi Chris,

The archive of the set of images that have been sent in the Unidata-Wisconsin
(IDD feedtype UNIWISC) datastream can be accessed using passworded FTP as
follows:
machine: unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu
user: unidata3
pass: unirec7
The 'neartime' directory currently contains subdirectories of images
that date back to February 1, 2005.
The file naming scheme is self explanatory. For example:
200509202115.goes12co2 <- GOES-12 CO2 (13.3 um)
200509202115.goes12ir <- GOES-12 IR (10.7 um)
200509202115.goes12irs <- GOES-12 IRS ( 3.9 um)
200509202115.goes12vis <- GOES-12 VIS (0.65 um)
200509202115.goes12wv <- GOES-12 WV ( 6.5 um)
200509202059.mdr <- Manually Digitized Radar (MDR) image

The MDR images are in McIDAS AREA format, and GEMPAK can read McIDAS
AREA format imagery directly, so there is no need for a decoding step.
> Thank you,
No worries.
Cheers,
Tom
