McIDAS ADDE MODIS servers have been installed on a NOAA server that
collects and processes global MODIS data in realtime. MODIS Level 1b
granules from both Terra and Aqua are freely available within 2-3 hours
of realtime. About 2 days of data are online at anytime.
For access to the data:
DATALOC ADD NANUK NANUK.EOSDIS.NASA.GOV
The client access is through the uncompressed ADDE port, so the
environment variable MCCOMPRESS can not be set. For more information, see:
http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mug/users_guide/2003/McHTML-54.HTML
This MODIS data is available through a NOAA/OSDPD server. It is not an
operational system, and therefore, the reliability and data availability
can not be guaranteed. For more information see:
http://www.osdpd.noaa.gov/MODIS/ . Furthermore, for science applications
that require a certified level of processing, you should retrieve your
data from the GSFC DAAC.
Let me know if you have any questions.
