Hi Arnold,

>Since the middle of this month, the GOES-10 WV, VIS, IR image files
>have been getting ingested into the IDD at 30-40minutes after the
>data time. Prior to Apr17 at 00Z those data were getting input
>approximately 20 minutes after the data time (0000+every hour).
>
>Could you please check on this change and advise if it is be possible to
>have the GOES-10 images sent in their previous time slot. There has
>been no change to the ingest times of the GOEs-12/8 images which continue
>to go out at about 20mintes after their data time (0015+every hour).

I will look into the schedule being used to create the Unidata-Wisconsin
GOES-10 sectors.

>Prof Businger's Mauna Kea Forecast Center (MKFC) uses the GOES-10 iamges
>with the NOAA LAPS (local Analysis and Prediction System) and a receipt
>time which is more than 30minutes after the data time does not allow for
>the LAPS to make a useful update.

OK, I understand the situation.

I logged onto the machine that is creating the UNIWISC sectors and saw
that the cron job for GOES-West was being run at H+35 as you noted. I
changed this to H+15 to match the offset being used for the GOES-East
sectors. We will have to watch this carefully to make sure that it is
late enough to get the full sector and early enough for your LAPS
ingestion.

Will you also keep an eye on this today and send us back your
comments? Thanks!
