Tom,

>This is Tom Renkevens of the Satellite Analysis Branch of NOAA/NESDIS.

This is Tom Yoksas answering you. We met at the last MUG meeting in
Madison.

The number is "fluid", but is generally greater than 70. 70 is the
number of universities routinely getting imagery in the Unidata-Wisconsin
datastream that is conveyed in the IDD. This is not, however, how many
sites get/use satellite image data. There are a number of sites that
operate NOAAPORT receipt systems and are using the GINI imagery in
either or both of channels 1 or 2. Also, we are making more and more
data available through "pull" technologies like McIDAS ADDE and DODS.

Thanks for the kind words! I will circulate this email around Unidata
so others can get some "warm and fuzzies" :-)
