Boniface,

> I am a Ph.D. student at University of Nebraska in the
>Meteorology/Climatogy program. I need to review GOES imagery for the months
>Nov-Mar for the years 1989 through 1999 in order to identify various case
>studies for my research. I understand that GOES imagery is free for
>educational purposes. Please inform me how I can proceed to obtain this
>information. My other mail address at UNL is address@hidden

The imagery that was sent in the Unidata-Wisconsin datastream from the years
1991 to present (with some gaps) is archived at the University of Wisconsin's
Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC). This archive is free to
Unidata sites. Information on the format of the data in the archive
can be found in:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/data/unirec.html

The user name and password information needed to access this site can
be obtained from the UNL Unidata point-of-contact, Clint Rowe
(Clint Rowe <address@hidden>).

SSEC also maintains a full GOES archive portions of which it has made
freely available to .EDU users (requests from email addresses other
than .edu will be denied!). This free access is to be used somewhat
sparingly. Requests for multiple gigabytes of data will be denied,
and too many such requests will result in cessation of the free access
altogether. More information on this access can be found at:

http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/datacenter/

Follow the link 'Archive Data Information' and read the 'EDU Requests'
link that you will find at the bottom of the first page.

>Thank you.
