Hi,
I just got the foolowing request from one of our users:

I notice that SSEC's neartime satellite image archive lacks GOES images
for the period 23Z May 21 through 18Z May 22, and that the GOES-10
visible images in the archive for 14Z, 16Z, 17Z, 19Z, 22Z, and 23Z May
23 are at least partly truncated. As luck would have it, these images
cover part of a 2.5-day coastal surge along the West Coast, one of the
most spectacular that I've ever seen. It would be AWFULLY nice to
construct a case study, but the GOES-10 visible satellite imagery is
crucial for that.
What chance is there that SSEC could reconstruct the missing and
truncated AREA files for the times above and put them back into the
neartime archive? (I can't find my email info to contact them
directly--sorry to have to channel this query through Unidata.)

Since I don't know the answer to Dave's question, I am asking you:
Is it possible, on a limited, case-by-case basis to back fill the
Unidata-Wisconsin archive of imagery?
Any information on this topic would be most appreciated.
