     I thought that OSO was committed to better documentation of the data 
     broadcast on NOAAPORT.  I checked the web page Julie Hayes refered to 
     and found only lists of WMO headers and PILs without meta data you 
     seek.  
     
     I'll encourage OSO to better document the products, but I'm not 
     encouraged that the situation will change any time soon.  Meanwhile, 
     I'm 100% locked up trying to get new products onto NOAAPORT.  This 
     effort sounds like a job for a intern/summer student...any ideas?

Hi Dave,
     
What Unidata, and our university community users need, is a listing of the 
inventory list with descriptions of what the products/data are/mean.
What we're looking for is a document like the old FOS catalog
that listed the WMO headers, AFOS pils and a description of what the 
product is and how often it is issued.  This is an issue we deal with on a 
daily basis and if there was a document on the Web that we could refer the 
Unidata universities (over 150) to, it would certainly be helpful, 
especially now that we are using NOAAPort and there are additional data 
being made available, with the promise of even more to come.
