[AWIPS #NQO-863608]: How to make cave use metric units

Hi there,

Unfortunately, there isn't one place to make a change that will affect
everything in CAVE.
But, it is possible to change the units that are displayed for products. The
best way to do
this is to open the Localization Perspective (CAVE menu > Perspective >
Localization).

Then in the file browser that opens up on the right hand side you go to: D2D >
Style Rules

From here you have to find the file that corresponds with the dataset you're
interested in
changing.
If you're wanting to change Gridded Surface Temperature for example, you would
edit the
gridImageryStyleRules.xml file. You need to right click and create a USER
overide. And then
within that file there could be potentially many entries for Surface
Temperature for
different models, so he'd have to go through and changes all of them.

First, look for the parameter "T" (for temperature)
I think most surface levels are labeled <singleLevel units="SURFACE"/>
Then, you can look at the <displayUnits>
Other maybe popular ones:
Arrows --> d2dArrowStyleRules.xml
Contours --> d2dContourStyleRules.xml (edited)

Please let me know if this makes sense?

Thanks.
