[AWIPS #RGM-945173]: CAVE 18.2.1-5 Not Displaying Wind FLags

Hi Pete,

This is something we just recently became aware of, and will update our website
today:
the latest version of Monterey no longer supports Python2 at all. Currently,
our
version of CAVE for the Mac still relies on Python2. That is why the wind
barbs (and
other things) will not work for you.

A couple suggestions... You could possibly run a Virtual Machine and then
create either
an older version of Mac, and install CAVE inside that, or create a CentOS7
image and
install CAVE inside that.

I'm assuming you can't possibly roll back the MacOS version update?

If you have access to any other machine (older Mac, a Windows or CentOS7
machine) then
you shouldn't see this issue, but I'm assuming that's not likely?

Our next major release of AWIPS (version 20) will be fully supported in
Python3, so
this will no longer be an issue, but it will be a while before we're able to
push
out that release.

I'm sorry about the troubles.
