[AWIPS #UAZ-478917]: Map scale issue

I'm still not quite sure if I completely follow, but I have a few more 
questions and suggestions.  When you first opened CAVE, did it open in that 
5-panel view right away, or was that something that you switched to after
opening CAVE?  
Also, regardless, have you tried removing caveData (the local cache) and
restarting CAVE (instructions can be found on our website):
http://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/common-problems/#removing-cavedata

Does that make any difference?
