Hello,

NWS forecasters have not been allowed VPN access and have been working in the 
office as essential employees throughout the pandemic, so they have not ran 
into this issue since everything is done on-site.

I have heard about some of the government research agencies using NICE DCV in 
an AWS cloud instance that MDL developed. A couple other options are NoMachine 
and VNC Viewer, but you may see performance issues (slower response time). I 
hope that helps.
