[AWIPS #OLF-971864]: Radar Mosaic question

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your diligence in troubleshooting and filling us in on your findings.

One question I have for you - is there a reason that you have CAVE installed on
a server? Since it is a visualization software it should probably be installed
on a desktop workstation or laptop. Have you tried to install CAVE directly on
"Linux box A" or a Windows10 laptop (with a NVIDIA graphics card) and point to
EDEX on server1? (You may have mentioned security reasons?) AWIPS is set up to
have multiple workstations with CAVE installed on each of them, and then point
each of those CAVE's to a specific EDEX server.

I'm not sure why scenario 2 is giving you a different output than scenario
1...they should be the same. Especially if the two servers have the same
configuration. I'd be curious what the output from scenario 1 vs 2 is using
"glxinfo" and "ps -ef | grep X".

Another viable option that another user has gotten to work is NoMachine.

Thanks,

Tiffany Meyer
