NetCDF Training Workshop for Data Providers and Developers, July 20 in Boulder



Hi,

The one day session for netCDF data providers and developers in
Boulder will include two guest lecturers: Rob Latham (Argonne National
Laboratory) giving an overview of the use of parallel netCDF and Elena
Pourmal (The HDF Group, Inc.) presenting what netCDF-4 users should
know about HDF5.  Topics covered will include:

  * Overview of the netCDF-3 and netCDF-4 data models and architecture
  * Description of application programming interfaces
  * Generic netCDF utilities
  * Best practices for providing data and developing archives
  * Conventions for coordinate systems, gridded, and observational data
  * Performance tips
  * Parallel netCDF (Rob Latham, Argonne National Lab)
  * What NetCDF-4 Users Should Know about HDF5 (Elena Pourmal, 
    The HDF Group)
  * NetCDF-4 features, performance, compatibility, and guidance on use
