[netCDF #DMW-679093]: Unable to run make check

I'm very sorry, my last advice was wrong. From "configure --help" for 
netcdf-fortran 4.4.2, I see you need to use the environment variable FC, 
not F90, to specify which Fortran compiler to use if the configure script 
can't find one. We used to support the use of F90 as well as F77 and FC,
but apparently that changed at some point, and now F90 isn't used.

If that doesn't work, please send us the config.log that results from
trying to build netcdf-fortran.
