[netCDF #JMP-664385]: next NetCDF release

Good morning Sean,

I'm sorry for the delayed response to your original query; I will try to answer
it now.

The next netCDF-C library version will be 4.3.0; the third release candidate
was released earlier this week. Assuming no major issues are reported, we hope
to release within the next few weeks.

Work has started on CMake integration with netcdf-fortran (one of our next
milestones), but there is no time frame currently for the next release.
Similarly, we have no timeframe for the next C++ library release. The C++
libraries are contributed by a third party, Lynton Appel at the Culham Centre
for Fusion Energy; I believe that there are outstanding blocking issues
related to the next release, but I am not sure. The current version of the C++
libraries are 4.4.2, so I would expect the next version to be either 4.4.3 or
4.5.

I hope this helps answer your question,

-Ward
