[netCDF #SDJ-131296]: ncdump: H5Eint.c:709: H5E_printf_stack: Assertion `cls_id > 0' failed.

Thanks for reporting this workaround.

The problem had been encountered earlier and we plan to include a fix in
netCDF 4.2, as described in these two earlier suppoort responses:
