[McIDAS #LVQ-983678]: NCAR Visitor

I had an email exchange with Greg about what he did.  He forwarded
an email you had sent him in which was a URL for two images:

http://dss.ucar.edu/download/gms_taiwan/

I grabbed these images; created a McIDAS ADDE dataset to access them;
and was able list information AND display them with no problems.
So, the question now is why the images that Yangping grabbed are
different than the ones you grabbed and then asked Greg to checkout?

I mused in an email to Rit that the possible difference could be that
the images Yangping grabbed are in a McIDAS tape archive format (I
have seen this format once in the 22+ years I have worked with McIDAS).
I will do some investigating to see if the images are in a tape archive
format (probably will contact old McIDAS hands at SSEC); if they are
there is likely a simple procedure for returning them to "pristine"
McIDAS AREA file format like the ones in 
http://dss.ucar.edu/download/gms_taiwan/.
