The use of port 112 was new in v2003 and not much publicized. It is,
however, the _only_ port that will be used for ADDE for versions 2004
and above. McIDAS is being modified to support uncompressed,
'compress' compressed, and 'gzip' compressed ADDE transfers using port
112. The reason for the change is that ports 500 and 503 were never
registered by SSEC for McIDAS use. Unidata registered port 112 with
IANA a long time ago for McIDAS data transfers. We lobbied SSEC to
adopt its use so that people would stop running into conflicts for
ports 500 (registered for use by isakmp) or 503 (which is registered,
but I am not sure by what application at the moment).

So, mcinet2003.sh sets up ADDE use through 3 ports, 500, 503, and 112.
mcinet2004.sh should only setup ADDE use through port 112. This will
make life easier as time goes on.

Cheers,

Tom
