[LDM #IRC-777770]: needing to restart LDM

OK.  We run various versions of the LDM under CentOS x86_64 v6.8 here in
Unidata, so we believe that your problem is not similar to the issue that
Mac users had a couple/three years ago.a

OK.

It would be interesting to see relevant LDM log file entries during the 
period(s)
where feed slowdowns/stoppages occur.

Also, have you taken a look at system log file(s) (e.g., /var/log/messages) to 
see
if there are any relevant entries there?

And finally (for now, at least), is there any indications of problems being
experienced on the Ethernet interface that connects your machine to the 
Internet?
Output of '/sbin/ifconfig -a' might reveal something.
