It is not necessary to open port 388 for UDP traffic, so you may want
to ask your network folks to close that down.  TCP for port 388 must
be open, however.

If your machine is secure, then the next step is creation of an 'ldm'
account, downloading of the LDM distribution, building the
distribution, installing the distribution, and finally configuring data
requests in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf and data decoding actions in
~ldm/etc/pqact.conf.
