The above means that Seistan's LDM couldn't connect to an LDM 6 on
Sirocco. Implicit in this message is that Seistan's LDM first tried to
connect using the well-known LDM port (388); when that failed, it tried
to connect to Sirocco's portmapper to discover on what port Sirocco's
LDM was listening. That inquiry failed because Seistan never received a
reply.
Seistan's LDM should then have connected to Sirocco's LDM using version
5 of the protocol. There should be an entry in Seistan's LDM logfile to
this effect.
Assuming that these two machines are electronically close (which means
that they should be able to communicate easily) then it seems likely
that Sirocco wasn't running an LDM 6 at the time that Seistan's LDM 6
attempted to connect.

The attached LDM logfiles from Sirocco didn't have any entries
corresponding to the same times as the above logfile entries -- so it's
difficult to make a diagnosis.

The above means that Sirocco's LDM 6 successfuly connected to Unidata2's
LDM 6, which agreed to send the requested data.

happened for any number of reasons.

The above means that Sirocco's LDM 6 will, again, try to receive the
relevant data feeds.

The above means that Sirocco's LDM 6 couldn't connect to Unidata2's LDM
because that LDM was unresponsive. This could be because that LDM was
offline at the time.

The above means that Sirocco's LDM 6 successfully queried Unidata2's
portmapper about Unidata2's LDM and was told that no such program was
registered. This is consistent with the hypothesis that Unidata2's LDM
was offline at the time.

The above indicates that Sirocco's LDM 6 successfully connected to
Datoo's LDM, but that that LDM used version 5 protocols rather than
version 6 protocols (Datoo should be upgraded to LDM 6). Sirocco's
LDM 6 would have subsequently disconnected and retried using protocol
version 5.

The above indicates that Sirocco's receiving LDM-s were unable to
deregister themselves with the portmapper. They should not have
attempted this and this probably indicates a bug in the code. The bug
is completely harmless, however.
A little earlier, Sirocco's logfile contained the following:
