[IDV #LWP-415350]: sh idv_2_9u2_linux64_installer.sh / Could not untar archive. Aborting.

Hi again.

We have not been able to reproduce this problem here.

It is strange you are observing different behaviors from the tar command as a 
function of being root. 

We believe this may be a problem associated with the environment of the root 
user on your machine. For example, please compare which version of the tar 
command is running with the Unix which command ("which tar") as root and 
regular user.
