This is a feature, not a bug :-)
What we end up doing is rendering the text as html so we use the width
of the editor pane in the properties dialog as the width of the renderered
image.
That said, I just made a change (its check in now and will be in tonight's
nightly build) where if the text begins with the tag "<nobr>" then we use
the maximum width of the rendered html. So if you have a line:
This may be a really really long ling that wraps, please check this...
Just change it to:
<nobr>This may be a really really long ling that wraps, please check this...
