[GEMPAK #SME-633025]: Confirming Linux 64 Binary problem with 5.11.1 and Fedora 6

Hi Samuel,

OK, this is important information.

> Here is the OS I was able to get 5.11.1 working on:

OK.

> Should I try installing the 32 bit version of 5.11.1 on a 64 bit machine?

That is what I would try.

> Would that reduce gempak's efficiency?

Not much.

> P.S. The OS on which 5.11.1 (64 bit binary) gives a 'Segmentation fault' for nmap2, is the following:
> [gempak@EBE270-22LIN ~]$ uname -a
> Linux EBE270-22LIN.cup.edu 2.6.22.14-72.fc6 #1 SMP Wed Nov 21 14:10:25 EST 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I would guess that if your 64-bit machine was upgraded from Fedora Core 6 to Fedora 8, the
segmentation faulting would stop.

Cheers,

Tom
