[GEMPAK #FDR-746069]: Errors Compliling GEMPAK5.9.2 on Linux Fedora 5

Giovanni,

GEMPAK does not use the CXX or Fortran interface to netcdf, so they not needed
to be built. That isn't
a problem so long as NetCDF's library is build and installed in
$NAWIPS/os/linux/lib/libnetcdf.a
which it did on my FC5 installation.

As for the second error, did you modify an any way the $CONFIGDIR/Makeinc.linux
file?
The FC5 installation I tested has:

[139]gempak on yakov --> g77 -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.2.3/specs
Configured with: ../configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man
--infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix
--disable-checking --with-system-zlib --enable-__cxa_atexit
--enable-languages=c,c++,f77 --disable-libgcj --host=x86_64-redhat-linux
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-55.fc5)

The FC variable must be g77 in Makeinc.linux for thw -Wno-globals option
defined in the
NCOPT variable in the build configuration. You error message about no-globals
seems to indicate you are
not using g77.
