[GEMPAK #VYM-957557]: gempak 5.8.3a compiled with Intel Fortran compiler version 9

Harry,

Judging from the gembud exchanges today, others are using the current 5.9.1
version
of GEMPAK compiled with ifort. There certainly could be problems with 5.8.3,
but in general, the FL type of error you have could be as a result of
your optimization settings conflicting with the gemlib ST_ library routines.
In particular, high level optimization often breaks the routines where a
single variable is passed as both the input and output argument of the fortran
routine
(typical with the DEC compiler, and -O3 under Solaris).
