20050607: N-AWIPS classes or teaching facilities?

Becky,

We are holding our GEMPAK training workshop July 25-27

The materials for that workshop will be updated as necessary for the workshop
as time approaches. You will find the GEMPAK tutorial at:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/gempak/tutorial/index.html
The tutorial will be the basis for the workshop.
We have some webcast files of last year's workshop on our web site, but
I do know that several gaps occured in that recording, so that resource is
not a suitable training basis at this point.

The machines we will use for the workshop will be rentals, and we will use
RedHat Fedora Core on those machines. We typically set up a machine with all
of the packages we will be using and ghost that image for the workstations
a day or two before the workshops begin. We do not have permanant facilities
that exist outside of the workshop dates.

Our current version of GEMPAK is 5.8.2a, which will be used for the workshop
unless 5.8.3 becomes available shortly before the workshop dates.
