20041208: Updating pqact.conf after installing GEMPAK5.7.4

Nancy,

The pqact entries provided in the GEMPAK distribution are designed to use
data directories relative to the LDM distribution. That is,
all entires write to data/gempak/ under the running LDM. The gen_pqact.csh
will set the GEMTBL lopcation in the pqact entries to the GEMPAK 5.7.4 tree
though.

Your ~ldm/data/gempak tree can be located anywhere. Your Gemenviron
will need to be edited so that GEMDATA points to the gempak data tree.

From your proevious question- do decoders need to be updated
if your display programs are crashing? Not generally.
Since you mentioned problems with image loops, and images are not decoded
by the decoders mentioned above, that problem would not be corrected.
However, updating decoders will ensure that you are keeping pace with
data stream broadcast changes.

If your image loop is dying after 6 images, then it sounds as if
you are running out of memory. I'll check the limits you have imposed
on your account.
