20041103: GEMPAK update for NWS CID implementation

GEMPAK users of NWX,

I have posted the NWX tables and pqact pattern action updates for
the Nov. 9, 2004 NWS communication identifier changes as previously
mentioned.

You can download the update file from the Unidata web portal at:

http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewsdownload&sid=22

Choose the "NWX updates for CID (nwx_update_041104.tar.gz)" link.

The tarfile should be placed in yourcurrent $NAWIPS directory and
unpacked with:

gunzip -c nwx_update_041104.tar.gz | tar xvf -

The above will update:
$NAWIPS/ldm/etc/templates/pqact.gempak_nwx
$GEMTBL/nwx/

Use the pqact.conf_nwx file to update your current LDM pattern actions
for NWX.

        Attached message from 11/03/2004
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The NWS will be making changes to communication identifiers of a number
of products on November 9, 2004:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/datamgmt/cid.html

This change will require updating a number of tables used by NWX,
as well as new pqact pattern actions for these products. Current
versions of NWX will containue to work as always, and will only need
new tables and LDM pqact entries. I will be posting in the next day
these updated tables and pqact entries for updating your
current running version of GEMPAK.

The forthcoming distribution of GEMPAK 5.7.4 will contain the updated
tables as well as LDM pattern/actions for NWX.

Once you have the new $GEMTBL/nwx entries (either by updating your
current distribution, or by downloading the new 5.7.4 distribution),
you will have to install the new pqact.gempak_nwx entries so
that the files and directories created by the LDM output will match
the NWX tables.

I will notify the gembud list as soon as the files are available for
download through the Unidata web portal.
