20040714: 20040714: NAWIPS software compiled from source fails to run

Carter,

The order of parameters for the gdb command could be:
% gdb $GEMEXE/nmap2 core
you have the order reversed.

A likely possibility of the core dump would be that the user running nmap2
does not have read permission on one of its tables. This would have
occurred if the umask of the user installing the software did not
allow the read permissions to be set for other users to run the software.

If the 4dwx user isn't the same user as the user that installed gempak
then as the gempak tree owner, do:
cd $NAWIPS
chgrp -R a+r *

Some linux flavors have some system admin functions for creating user groups
which may also be interfering, but ensuring world read for the gempak tree
would be the best bet.
