20040224: Gempak - Solaris 8 - decoding dropsondes w/ dcuair

Megan,

Your bulletin does not have the start and end character sequences
that delineate a report. They have been stripped out of
your file.

You can recreate the AFOS style bulletin header and trailer
and decode your bulletin as:

NNNN

The ZCZC signals start of an AFOS bulletin (or use the
FOS characeters SOH \r \r \n.
The second line is the AFOS PIL, or FOS sequence number
(which doesn't do anything, but the decoder expects the line to exist).

The last line of the bulletin should be NNN (or \r \r \n \ETX for FOS).

The broadcast of realtime data uses the control characters to signal
the start and end of a product. If you are filing the data locally, it is best
not
to remove these characters. If you are downloading the data from a site that
doesn't
maintain the broadcast delimiters, then you have to recreate them as above.
