20031105: 20031105: importing and creating new text documents

Dusty,
$NAWIPS is an environmental variable that is set when you source the Gemenviron
script in GEMPAK.
The file I referenced is in the ldm/etc/templates directory below the
top of the GEMPAK distribution.

Please refer to our web site my.unidata.ucar.edu about real-time data via
the LDM software package.

If you are interested in receiving sounding data as it is broadcast, then
the LDM software is used by sites to receive this. The GEMPAK program
dcuair is used to write the real-time data to a GEMPAK data file.

As the National Scientific Balloon facility is affiliated with NMSU,
perhaps youmayhave some of this information already through
Robert Mullenax.
