20030908: urgent need of data



Dusty,

I would suggest looking at the GFS model grids for the
levels you are interested. Long line URL follows:
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/
   MT.avn_CY.12/RD.20030910/PT.grid_DF.gr1

Files such as: fh.0168_tl.press_gr.onedeg

(the 0168 is the 168 hour forecast from the analysis time).

These GRIB files can be decoder into GEMPAK using 
% cat fh.0168_tl.press_gr.onedeg | dcgrib2 -d - YYYYMMDDHH_avn@@@.gem

Use the GD programs to look at grid products.
