I do not know where you are looking. The current Unidata release of GEMPAK
on the my.unidata.ucar.edu download site is version 5.6.e.1 and
can be located from:
http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=3
once you have registered and logged in.
