20010814: Gempak METAR decoder

Chip,

Once you are a member of the list, you will be allowed to post
GEMPAK related questions etc to address@hidden.

The decoder does rely on the control characters in the data stream
(either FOS or AFOS separators). So, pasting from a terminal won't work.
The standard pattern of a metar bulletin is:
ctrl-A \r \r \n
seq_no \r \r \n
SAUS80 KWBC DDHHMM
etc.

\r \r \n ctrl-C

You can find a sample of the data for various streams on the
Florida St. web pages: http://www.met.fsu.edu/Data/archive/

Also, you listed your affiliation in the registration as AMS.
You can select "not listed" from the registration page
(http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/registration/) and then be prompted for
entering your station information if you desire to be listed that way in
our records.
