Thanks for yor reply!  I eventually came to the same conclusion, after
some trial and error.  One piece of advice:  You may want to change the
sample script on your webpage (under 'Examples' -> 'Creating images for
WWW') to reflect this.  As it is, the gpend is outside the loop.  New
users who copy this script (like me) will run into problems with it.
