... It is the software located at http://www.opendap.org/winPort.html that I
am working on. I am not specifically trying to use the Matlab interface
yet. I just want to serve a NetCDF file from my PC running Windows XP so
that the data file can be read by a Live-Access-Server (which is running on
another machine elsewhere). I am under the impression that to accomplish
this goal that I need to have DODS software running on my Windows XP
platform ....

When you say that you are installing DODS on your PC, what exactly
do you mean by DODS? Are you trying to run the Matlab client now called
loaddap?

I've copied Rob Morris on this message. He's the guy who wrote out
PC version of OPeNDAP (the new name for DODS stuff) software. The stuff that
he wrote is for Win32. I think that works with a number of different Windows
operating systems, but I'm not a Windows guy, so am not sure. I also copied
the technical e-mail list, but it may not go through; the name has changed
on that as well and I'm not sure if I can send messages to the list - old or
new.

				Hi,

I am trying to run DODS on my Windows XP
machine. I have

			Apache 2.0

installed and also Active Perl. I have
downloaded the

			DodsW32.exe and

installed it. I placed a file 'test.nc' in
my DocumentRoot

			directory.

When I give my web browser the URL:

http://efdl.cims.nyu.edu:81/cgi-bin/nph-dods/test.nc.html

I get "Error building the DODS dataset query
form

				: Empty reply from server".

Any thoughts how to fix this? Thanks.

			David,
I check the version and info command from my local
browser, and it works. Not sure what is going on on
the web server.
You can take a look the access log and error log of
the web
server to see if there is any information there.

			Yuan

				Cheers, David
