awips Bufr decoder

Hi Melissa,

I was referred to you as a contact person for an Bufr awips decoder for the MOS Guidance messages from the MDL folks. If your are not the correct contact, could you forward this message onto the correct person.

I'm working on a java general Bufr decoder and I'm having trouble decoding mostly the MOS reports. They are Bufr edition 2. My decoder correctly decodes the message up to the section 4 section length, and reserve octet but then it fails to decode the actual data. Is there something special about these reports? I know this is a terse description but I can supply an example with the details in follow up messages. Also, i was hoping to look at the awips decoder, but my fortran abilities are not the best so it might be hard to extract the algorithmn correctly.

Thanks for your help, Robb... =============================================================================== Robb Kambic Unidata Program Center Software Engineer III Univ.
