Tomislav,

a couple of things:

- remove -close flag  that closes the pipe after each write, might cause
file corruption and the pqact entry trashing.

- as user ldm, try it from the command line with the same parameters as
the pqact entry.

/usr/local/decoders/gribtonc /usr/local/decoders/decoders-3.0.6/etc/eta_218.cdl
/usr/local/ldm/data/eta/net_cdf/eta218.nc < eta218.input

it's probably the -close flag
