MADIS Users notification: Firewall and LDM updates for MADIS customers

MADIS Customers,

NCEP Central Operations (NCO) has set up a mirror facility in Boulder, CO, for the Integrated Dissemination Program. This facility in Boulder will be running the same IDP applications as the current NCO facility in College Park, MD, including the Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System (MADIS) .

We are requesting all NCO MADIS users to update their firewall rules to allow LDM connections to both College Park and the new Boulder distribution server:

Your firewall should accept both:
Additionally, your LDM configuration should request from LDM server  ldm.madis.ncep.noaa.gov. 

Once the firewall rules are updated and the LDM request line is changed to  ldm.madis.ncep.noaa.gov no further changes should be required on your side. 

There will be scheduled fail-overs where there is a DNS change to make one of the two sites active. This fail-over should be transparent to the customer.
