[Datastream #WWC-622112]: Question About GOES-West & East data

Exactly what do you mean by 'raw' data?  I just want to make sure that
we are on the same page...

What do you mean by "more conventional data"?

GOES imager data that are available to Unidata community members are
typically 8-bit, pre-calibrated sectors from GOES-East (GOES-13),
GOES-West (GOES-15) and GOES-South (GOES-12).  Users that run ADDE-enabled
applications (e.g., McIDAS-X, IDV, and SSEC's McIDAS-V) can get data
from our real-time ingest systems here in UCAR.  That data can be captured
as 10-bit or 8-bit versions.  The data from these systems are, however,
only real-time data, not archive.

If you are looking for archived GOES imagery, you should check out the
CLASS system of NOAA.
