Hi Meredith,

Here is the information you need:

machine: unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu
user: unidata3
pass: unirec7
directory: neartime/...

The images in the neartime/... directories are the ones that were
sent in the IDD UNIWISC (aka MCIDAS) datastream. The full archive
dates back to 1991 and is relatively complete (it does contain
gaps that are hit and miss).

The GOES images are in McIDAS AREA file format, but do not follow
the AREA file naming convention. Here is a quick list of what
to look for:

200509060000.goes10wv - GOES West water vapor (6.8 um)
200509060000.goes10vis - GOES West vis (0.65 um)
200509060000.goes10irs - GOES West short ir (3.9 um)
200509060000.goes10irl - GOES West long ir (12.0 um)
200509060000.goes10ir - GOES West thermal ir (10.7 um)
200509060015.goes12wv - GOES East water vapor (6.5 um)
200509060015.goes12ir - GOES East thermal ir (10.7 um)
200509060015.goes12vis - GOES East visible (0.65 um)
200509060015.goes12irs - GOES East short ir (3.9 um)
200509060015.goes12co2 - GOES East long ir (13.3 um; CO2 band)
200509060015.floater - floater #1
200509060015.floater2 - floater #2

The first part of the name is:

CCYYMMDDHHMM

Times are in UTC.

>Thank you.

No worries.
