20030710: Re: WSR-88D Level II Data Available



Hi Cliff,

Absolutely. That's one of the driving forces for this project is that all Level II data are being archived at NCDC, and it no longer takes weeks/months to get the data. Currently the data from the 62 radars are being archived and made available within within minutes, due to the use of the LDM handling the data.

As soon as the remaining radars are included, using the LDM for sending their data to NCDC, that data will also be available with a quick turnaround. NCDC is replacing all of the old 8MM Exabyte tape technology. By the way, the data are freely available!
