Hi Dee,

Sorry that this has slipped so long!

>Any word or timeframe on going operational with Unidata2

I think that everything is set to do the switch. What I could really
use before sending out a note to the community is a list of sites that
are feeding from gold currently. If I had access to gold, I could get
the list in a few seconds:

<login as 'ldm'>
cd logs
grep topo ldmd.log*

If it is the case that gold has been up for a long time and the LDM log
files are rotated nightly, it is possible that the list of sites
garnered from the above grep would be incomplete. In this case, I
would shut down the LDM on gold during a lull in the Unidata-Wisconsin
broadcast and then restart it:

ldmadmin stop
<wait until all LDM processes have exited>
ldmadmin start

After doing this, the grep above in ~ldm/logs/ldmd.log (after enough
time has elapsed) will give us a good idea of who is using gold
directly.

>I am getting really close to getting rid on my old AIX boxes.

As soon as I get the list of sites connecting to gold, I will send out
a note to ldm-users notifying folks of the switch.

>PS..Did Mike have any luck with Fortran 90 on HP-UX 11?

Mike has been talking to Steve there (?). Mike tried to read the CDs
you folks have, but it didn't work. Steve (?) is sending Mike copies
of the CDs that he will then use to install F90 on our HP-UX 11.0
machine, tweety.unidata.ucar.edu.
